  • Students are evaluated through their behaviors which are then addressed in a three-tier structure. The teachers document the interventions and their effects with respect to the special education referral, as per requirement.

  • The Tier 1 level executes interventions and employs the Positive Behavioural Support Systems (PBS)

 

  • The Tier 2 level utilizes small group interventions and teachers observe their behaviors and track them through a Functional Behaviour Assessment.

  • According to IDEA’s History of Interventions, Congress validated the Education for All Handicapped Childre Act, as known as the EHA, in 1975 to protect the rights of, meeting the individual needs of and enhancing the results for the youth and children with disabilities and their families.
