DIRECT OBSERVATION 

Event Recording- recording the frequency of a target behavior 

Interval Recording- sampling a behavior intermittently for a very brief period of time.

Anecdotal Recording - observation of behavior in which the teacher notes all behaviors and interactions that occur during a given period of time.

Duration Recording- an observation that involves the length of time a behavior occurs

Latency Recording- observation involving the amount of time that elapses from the presentation of a stimulus until the response occurs. 

Interresponse Time- the amount of time between target behavior.

 

  • The Child Behaviour Checklist (CBCL) Direct Observation Form, the revised version, has three parts: observation rating scale, anecdotal recording area, and interval recording area.
